SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The pianist Alexis Alonso and the jazz and flamenco master Jorge Pardo have released ‘Bailes descalzos’, the first ‘single’ from the joint album ‘Maires’ which will be released in July and will lead to an international tour in September.
This album was born from the live performances that both offered on the ‘La Vida en el Agua’ tour that took place between May and June and with only three instruments, Alexis Alonso’s piano and maestro Jorge Pardo’s combination of transverse flute and saxophone.
‘Bailes descalzos’ is, in the words of its composer Alexis Alonso, “a liberation, a song that makes duende and mischief flow with a deep feeling, with soul, and has those moments of improvisation that are the product of the feeling I have with George on stage.
The 2022 tour took them from Canarian auditoriums and theaters to more classic national jazz venues such as Clamores in Madrid or Jamboree Jazz in Barcelona.
This project is not a one-off collaboration, but a bet that intends to last over time if the schedules of both musicians allow it to the point that new songs are being composed.
“I am very proud that this project continues, because it is a real part of the sensations that we have had since we started ‘La Vida en el Agua’, because we have had a great time. My way of separating this project from other collaborations that it has Jorge is that there is no obligation but an intention to continue and, of course, that fills me up because we have had a great time on the tour”, says Alexis Alonso.
