The recovery of transhumance involves rethinking the strategies to promote the territorial and cultural development of the Islands through traditional grazing routes and their associated heritage assets.. For this, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the City Council of Buena Vista del Norte organize the III Conference on transhumance and grazing in Canary Islandschallenges and opportunities, next Friday and Saturday at the Cultural Center of El Palmar, with talks, the presentation of a booka round table and a guided tour of the Teno Rural Park.

This third meeting in Buenavista, with expert personnel and linked to this ancestral practice, can also be followed online through the following link provided by the University of La Laguna: https://meet.google.com/rya-ejxt-txi. This is an initiative, in collaboration with the International Association of Transhumance Routes and Rural Roads (TT&RR), to deepen knowledge about transhumance and grazing as part of the intangible heritage of the Canary Islands. In addition, this meeting promotes “the study, recovery and appreciation” of this heritage asset that has been preserved from aboriginal times to the present.

These conferences bring the reality of the Archipelago’s road heritage closer to the local population from an area that is not only academic but also open to the sector, which allows reflect on the challenges and opportunities of this legacy. The appointment is promoted by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage.
