The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will begin tomorrow Thursday, April 13, the assembly of the formwork of the second and last pedestrian walkway of access to the Charcos area in Vallesecothe one located furthest south and closest to the Maritime Captaincy tower.
The assembly of this second formwork that will shape a 100-meter-long walkway will take place between 8:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m., so it will be necessary to close the Port Service Road to traffic again in the section between Muelle Norte and The Bufadero.
The Ports of Tenerife will continue to apply strict security measures and the reinforcement of the corresponding signage and will maintain gauge control at 4.50 metres. It should be remembered that vehicles that exceed this height are considered special transport, and may not circulate on the section of track subject to these works while the north and south walkways are being assembled.
On this occasion, in addition, one of the lanes of the Service Road will be closed to traffic for a month, the estimated time for the completion of the work on the south footbridge and in which alternative traffic in both directions will be continuously regulated by signalmen and traffic lights.
The execution of these works is the result of the inter-administrative agreement signed in 2019 between the Autonomous Community, the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Santa Cruz City Council and the Port Authority itself. The Maritime Defense and Management Works for the Charcos Zone of the Valleseco Functional Area, phase 2, were awarded to the Joint Venture Dragados SA/Construcciones Elfidio Pérez, SL for a budget of 13,632,573.41 euros.
