SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa), a Cabildo company, transported 16,022,690 passengers during the first quarter of the year, a figure that represents an increase of 5,092,990 passengers, 45.5% more than the data for the same period of 2022.
These results confirm the continuous increase in travelers this year, with numbers rising each month and reaching 6,034,491 passengers last March, that is, almost two million more than in the same month of 2022 (+49.4% ).
All the lines of the company register very positive data in terms of the evolution of passengers, with increases of more than 40% on almost all routes.
The greatest increase in passengers occurred on the interurban lines of Santa Cruz, with an increase of 57.9% compared to last year, while the interurban lines of La Laguna grew by 41.6%.
Regarding the long-distance lines, the ones that increased passengers the most were those from the north with 53.4%, exceeding one million two hundred thousand passengers in the first quarter. Those heading south added 38.9% more travelers, while those linking the north and south registered the smallest increase of all with 12.7%.
The routes in the northern zone also grew to exceed 1.7 million passengers, which is 54% more than in the first quarter of 2022. The lines in the metropolitan zone registered more than 3.6 million passengers (+ 45.2%), while those in the southern zone reached almost 4 million, with an increase of 44.5%.
The urban services of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna grew by 42.7, more than 3 million passengers, and 39.1%, more than 300,000 passengers, respectively.
