Works to secure and condition the way of the wolf and restore its public use, which runs from the former Neptune Hotel to the beach in the area, in the Bajamar lagoon nucleuswill start this week, as confirmed yesterday by the municipal Department of Works and Infrastructures.
The action, with an expected term of 45 days and an award budget of 21,371 euros, will consist of cleaning up the slope of said path through the controlled demolition of stones that are in an unstable situation, to provide greater security to the path, and to make they a small dry stone wall that prevents the dragging of stones on the road, as explained from Works.
In addition, some existing concrete pillars will be demolished, which served as support for the old water elevation pipes and which, at present, are in disuse and have a serious risk of falling. Subsequently, the road will be cleaned and a protection railing will be installed to improve the descent of access to the sea.
The works finally began after the La Laguna City Council had to contract them again with a new company, since the company contracted last year for this purpose ended up declaring suspension of activity, after a series of delays, such and as reported last January, for which reason the contracting process had to be restarted.
Public use
It should be remembered that a judgment of the TSJC endorsed that said path is for public use. A resolution that came after the new owner of the hotel closed the road in 2019, when work began on the property, for which the local Consistory undertook the legal procedures for its recovery, which was achieved in October of that same year.
