The Tacoa brewery, located in the municipality of El Sauzal, has created its first reineta apple beer, announced this Monday the Sauzalero City Council in a statement. The artisan factory, in collaboration with the agrarian society SAT Posma, has decided to give a new approach to this outstanding product of the gastronomy sauzalera.
The drink is sour style, also known as wild or spontaneously fermented beers, which include a wide range of acid beers that are usually very refreshing. The creation from pippin apples has been possible thanks to the predisposition of the two Sauzalera brands to create “a unique and recognizable product throughout the world,” says the Sauzalero Town Hall. This type of beers moves away from the traditional ones, with bitter flavors provided by hops, to give them a more acidic touch, by adding fruit.
The original part of this new drink is the apple incorporationwhich is a fruit that is usually avoided for the preparation of the beer. And, although there are other brands that have worked with this flavor, none have done so with pippin apples. After the collaboration, 500 liters of reineta apple beer have been produced and special packaging has been created, in can format, to present it at the Tacoa brewery itself.
