The Santiago del Teide City Council has organized, for yet another year, the VIII edition of the Festival of the Word, which during the month of April will integrate, within its programming, different activities and acts related to literature and which will be aimed at everyone the public ones.
It should be noted that, through said literary event, it is intended to promote growth through the word, all through the promotion of the reading habit and the concern for the infinity of stories that are hidden behind literature; highlighting that, throughout the development of its 7 previous editions, a greater number of children, young people and adults have been involved in each of its activities aimed at the enjoyment of reading and the promotion of creativity.
Thus, this new edition will begin from April 3 to 14 with an exhibition in the municipal libraries entitled “Of books and libraries.” From April 17 to 28 there will be an exhibition of mini-stories by local authors commemorating Book Day
On Friday, April 21, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the CEIP Feliciano Hernández García and aimed at an adult audience, there will be a show entitled “Tenorio” where said work will be narrated through stories where the protagonists will be women as well as listen to the songs that don Juan listened to. It is a show interpreted by Ernesto Rodríguez Abad in the narration, Diego Expósito at the piano and the singers Marta López and Eduardo Chávez.
Finally, on Saturday, April 22, this new edition of the Fiesta de la Palabra will feature the school theater show “La troupe de las palabras”, which will take place from 10:00 a.m. at the CEIP Feliciano Hernández García, where the finalist schoolchildren They will receive a set of books and a diploma.
