Santiago del Teide organizes the VIII edition of the Contest of Crosses Decorated on Facades

The Santiago del Teide City Council is organizing the VIII edition of the 2023 Adorned Crosses on Facades Contest, with which it aims to encourage creativity as well as the conservation of the customs of the municipality.

Thus, all those people who are over 18 years of age and minors may participate in the contest, in which case authorization granted by the father, mother or legal guardian will be required.

Likewise, it is worth mentioning that legally constituted non-profit entities or associations of the municipality may participate in the same way, as well as those educational centers located in the municipal area and that, in this case, they must present a single work per educational center. .

Regarding the theme of the contest, it will be linked to the ornamentation of the Cross, using techniques such as elements of a traditional or modern nature (natural flowers, artificial flowers or those made by hand or by hand, as well as recyclable materials), while the The frame or structure of the cross will be of free technique, with the dimensions of the crosses decorated on facades being a maximum of 70 cm. In the modalities of associations and educational centers the dimension of the cross will be free.

In relation to the registration period, it will be free and the period will end on May 2, and must be submitted, according to the model attached in annexes I, II and III, through the electronic headquarters of the city council or by in person at the town hall registry office.

Regarding the mode of presentation of the designed crosses, these must be decorated on the facades or front of the buildings designated by each individual participant or association and in the place designated by the participating educational center; although the presentation of the works is in free format and the participating persons must indicate, in the registration form, the place where the work or work that they elaborate will be located -being a single work or work for each property-.

Thus, the following prizes will be determined:

Prizes for individual participants

  • First prize: 200 euros.

  • Second prize: 150 euros.

  • Third prize: 100 euros.

Prizes for participants of collectives (entities or associations)

  • First prize: 400 euros.

  • Second prize: 200 euros.

  • Third prize: 100 euros.

Prizes for participants from educational centers

Voucher redeemable for didactic material for the center worth 300 euros (1st prize) a voucher redeemable for didactic material for the center worth 200 euros (2nd prize) and, finally, a voucher redeemable for didactic material for the center worth of 100 euros (3rd prize).

Regarding the decision of the contest, it will be announced to the participants on May 3, while on May 5 from 6:00 p.m. there will be an event at the Tamaimo Social Center where the prizes will be awarded.
