The neighbors of valleseco expressed their rejection that the only beach in use in the area, that of acapulcowas the first of Santa Cruz in which the access of dogs was admitted, especially without having previously consulted with the neighbors. This was stated in the assembly convened by the Platform in Defense of the Valleseco Beach and this was conveyed to the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, yesterday in a meeting held with representatives of the beach. The response of the City Council has been to suspend, for the moment, the access of dogs to this beach.
This was reported by the Commission for the Defense of the Valleseco beach after the meeting, from which it was recalled that the prohibition of access and transit of dogs on the beaches of Acapulco, Alemana, Cory and Varadero was supported by 98% of the votes issued at the assembly held on March 17. “From the City Council they have agreed to the proposal to suspend the entry of animals to our beaches,” explained the representatives of the platform.
This decision, however, is not shared by the Councilor for the Environment, Carlos Tarife, responsible for the decree that allowed dogs access to the beach.
In statements to DIARIO DE AVISOS, he expressed his discomfort with the decision. “That I know that instruction without talking to me, I think it is not the manners.” “We will assess the situation with the technicians and we will meet with the mayor,” he concluded.
