The La Cuesta Meeting Procession experienced a new edition marked by the fervor that always characterizes it. Our Father Jesus Captive before Caifás left in procession from the parish of Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria and María Santísima de los Dolores, from that of Nuestra Señora de La Paz y Unión. Each one made their tour through the streets of the area until they met in the Plaza de la Candelaria, the main moment of the act. The cold and the rain at times also marked the appointment.
It was planned that the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, joined the Holy Tuesday of La Cuesta. Other political representatives from different formations also participated in this event, marked by following the forms of Holy Week in Andalusia. It is not a coincidence. His origins are found in the versatile Joaquín López Barrera, who died in 1995 and better known by his stage name: Jaky Romero. A Sevillian and professional dancer, he was in charge of implementing this procession, which took place for the first time in April 1993.

This, his particular Dolorosa, would end up receiving worship in the parish of La Paz and Unión, although it was later replaced by a larger one, both acquired from another Sevillian image maker, Juan gonzalez Garcia,” says Torres.

There were also acts yesterday in the town of La Laguna.
