The mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González (PP); the Councilor for Town Planning, Laura Lima (PP)and the area councilor for District VI of the town, Domingo Garcia (PP)presented this Monday the project for the new Palo Blanco funeral home, which will open its public bidding period in the coming days, through the Neighborhood Plan. For González, “this project is the result of arduous transversal work from different municipal areas, which has had the consensus of the Community Board of District VI, in which the different groups of this environment are represented. Palo Blanco, Las Llanadas, La Ferruja and Placeres-La Romera».
The mayor recalls thatIn recent years, different alternatives have been put on the table to meet the demand for an adequate space as a wake for this population environment: the rental or purchase of real estate or plots in the nucleus, which could be adapted to the new mortuary health regulations and that meet the requirements, initiating conversations with different owners , without being able to specify anything ». González who adds that “other alternatives were seen, such as different locations on different plots, finally deciding on municipally owned land in front of the aforementioned football stadium in which, after a necessary modification in the planning, this activity would have a place, a procedure that has been the main reason for the delay of this installation ».

domingo garcia points out that “this was one of the historical demands and pending issues with the citizens of Palo Blanco and the surrounding area, because the current wake, a space donated by the parish, does not meet the adequate conditions for its use and we promised to find alternatives to finally obtain the solution.
The area councilor recalls that «since June last 2022 the drafting of the same was promoted, having the final document available since last December. Afterwards, all the previous procedures were started to its imminent public tender and that companies interested in construction can present their offers in a matter of days”.
The new building will have an entrance to a distributor hall that in turn gives access to two areas prior to each of the two wake rooms.
