The Council of Tenerife will distribute one million euros among clubs and entities over 65 for leisure and free time activities. This was announced at the I Island Meeting for Seniors held yesterday at El Polvorín de Taco. Within this framework, the island strategy marked out this year within the Conecta Mayores program was also announced, in which the associations and entities themselves will be the ones that promote the activities to be developed to favor social inclusion and active aging of this segment of the island population.
The meeting was attended by the insular president, Peter Martin, who was accompanied by several advisers. Nearly 300 older people from the island gathered at the event. Martín clarified that “the line of subsidies of one million euros is planned in 2023 so that the elderly entities themselves are the ones that develop the activities that are of interest within the peculiarities and realities of the neighbors they represent.” He summarizes the objective: “We want to involve these groups in promoting the actions.”

The event, held at the sports complex El Polvorín in Tacocontemplated the development of different recreational activities and workshops.
