SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Nauzet Gugliotta, has presented the new resource Tenerife Participa, a tool to promote actions in terms of participation, interculturality and diversity throughout the island.
This was announced at the headquarters of the new Insular Office for Citizen Participation in La Laguna, an act that was attended by the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Yaiza López, and the insular director of Innovation, Planning and Social Action Strategy, Ascensión Bacallado .
Nauzet Gugliotta explained that this new resource was born with a street vocation, to favor the neighborhood and community movement in Tenerife: “Through Tenerife Participa we are going to visit the town halls, groups and entities on the island to learn about the associative fabric existing in each municipality, collect their proposals for action and publicize the policies promoted by the Cabildo in terms of participation”.
This resource, indicated Gugliotta, was created with the aim of becoming a nerve center for informing and advising town halls, entities and neighborhood associations in terms of participation.
The CEO of the area stressed that the objective set by the Cabildo in recent years “has been to increase participation and give voice to citizens, especially vulnerable groups to work for an increasingly just, egalitarian and inclusive society”. “Since the beginning of our term, we have promised to give the island a program that encourages real and effective citizen participation,” he stressed.
The Office is located on Bencomo street in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, next to the Insular Office for the Elderly. The actions developed from said dependencies will be aimed at the main agents of the community: city councils, as administrations closest to the neighbors in their respective localities and neighborhoods; neighborhood associations and groups; citizens and technical personnel. Among others, through Tenerife Participa, information, awareness and dissemination services, technical advice, training and good practices will be provided.
