SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The CEO of the Territorial and Environmental Management and Planning company (Gesplan), attached to the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands, Agoney Piñero, celebrated this Thursday the “economic takeoff” of the entity by going from 31.6 million in revenue in 2019 to 83.2 million in the past year.
“This exponential increase is due to the serious and responsible work carried out by this entity, which already has more than 30 years of experience,” he qualified in a note.
The CEO also explained that “if the figures for 2021 were already satisfactory, with record data so far, since revenue of more than 48 million was recorded, this last year the highest figure of the history for the second consecutive year, a figure that is accompanied, in turn, by an increase in both the projects carried out at the request of other public administrations and the level of employment, reaching in 2022 almost 2,900 personnel contracts on all the islands “.
In his opinion, “it is important to emphasize once again that, as a public company, all the income we receive from other administrations is allocated to the projects and assignments we manage, reverting to the improvement and advancement of Canarian society, since, At any time, we obtain economic benefit from it”.
Among the agreements adopted by the Board of Directors is also the taking into consideration of the declaration of Gesplan as its own medium embodied by the Artenara City Council, in Gran Canaria.
Once this procedure is approved by the Governing Council of the regional Executive there will be 70 municipalities that have enabled the public company, in addition to the regional Government and the seven councils.
