Pacma denounces the shooting at the dogs

The spokesperson for the Pacma animal party, Yolanda Morales, has affirmed that she understands the “delicate situation” for the National Police, but maintains that “these are not the ways” to act in an arrest, for which she points out that “action protocols are urgent for the security forces” in situations of this type so that they can be addressed “with common sense” and not “with shots”.

Along these lines, he criticizes the use of other non-lethal control systems such as darts or pellet shotguns to avoid seriously injuring or killing animals whose reaction is “normal and foreseeable” in this context.

The coordinator of the Animalist Party in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and future candidate for mayor, Cristo Gil, affirms that he will ask the sub-delegation of the Government of the Canary Islands for the police report on what happened in order to clarify the facts.

In a statement, the training also reported that, according to local animal protectors, the three dogs are being treated at a veterinary hospital near the scene and that at least two are in serious condition with several shots to the abdomen, joints and mouth.
