Héctor Gómez, the new Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, has collected the ministerial portfolio from the previous head of the department, Reyes Maroto, with the “purpose” of putting Spain at the world “vanguard” and giving “continuity” to the work initiated by the previous minister.
This was stated by the Minister of Industry in the portfolio transfer carried out this Tuesday, where he highlighted three key points: he thanked the President of the Government for his “trust”, he recognized the “extraordinary” work of Reyes Maroto in these five years, with an “outstanding” result, and finally, he has assured that he faces the challenge with “humility” and with an “infinite” will and capacity for “sacrifice” to achieve all the objectives that are set.
In addition, Gómez concluded his speech by saying that “the challenges and the road map are clear” and that “it is time” to work from “this very afternoon”, to “live up to” and “meet the objectives”.
For his part, Reyes Maroto, who will now fully dedicate himself to the campaign for his candidacy for Madrid mayor, has assured that he is leaving “feeling highly recognized” by the entire Government and has considered that the balance of his ministry is “positive”.
“I leave you a good scenario, but we have many uncertainties, the one that worries us the most is inflation,” said Reyes Maroto about the transfer of ministry to Héctor Gómez. “I have learned a lot and that will help me a lot in the candidacy,” added Maroto.
