Los Cristianos once again became the epicenter of rhythm, color and vacillation with the celebration of its Daytime Carnival. And you could tell that there was a desire after three years without being able to live the International Carnival in its streets. Thousands of residents, visitors from other Tenerife municipalities and tourists, gathered at the second most important carnival on the island to take out their costumes again and enjoy the carnival spirit, dancing to the sound of Nía Correira, the last winner of Operación Triunfo, Adexe y Nau, or the spectacle of Celia Cruz, Cuba thanks you, A tribute to a universal symbol, one of the most anticipated performances of the day.
The event began at 12:00 noon, with the early risers, on the stage of the Plaza de la Pescadora, which hosted the Family Carnival and where the youngest of the house (and not so young), enjoyed performances, workshops and parades, among other activities.
Shortly after, on the main stage and by the hand of Los40 Canarias, the performances of Adexe and Nau, Nia CorreiaJadel, ledes diazLion Hernández, Mikelo, Kidd Guetto and J Ramos, and the dj’s Renzzo The Selector, Oscar Martinez DJ and DJ Tana.
They were made to wait until 8:00 p.m., but it was worth it. The traditional Carnival Beach Route, which celebrates its sixth anniversary this year, toured the streets of the center of Los Cristianos, infecting everyone who crossed its path with rhythm, color and vacillation. They also had a performance by the group Sincopa’Ti.
Great tribute to Celia Cruz
The rhythm did not stop until dawn, and one of the most celebrated moments of the Daytime Carnival was the tribute to Celia Cruz, with the show Celia, Cuba thanks you.. The Wamampy and Maquinaria orchestras also entertained the night on the venue’s stage. On the other hand, in the Plaza del Pescador, the youngest danced to the rhythm of local DJs.
During the day, both the field hospital and the purple point, the Red Cross post, the Municipal Addictions Unit and the CanaryPride post were available.
