He Council of Tenerife reported this Friday “advances” in the negotiation for the resolution of the labor conflict in Metropolitano, the company that manages the trolley carto the point that the unions will vote on the suspension of the strike on March 31.
The union representatives have transferred to the Cabildo their discontent over the disciplinary proceedings open to workers in the course of this conflict and have proposed their suspension, an approach that the island corporation has accepted in order to favor negotiation, reports the institution in a release.
The trade union party has promised to withdraw the demonstrations in the Plaza del Cabildo and to convene an assembly to publicize the progress of the situation with the intervention of the Cabildo and to put the suspension of the strike to a vote on the eve of Holy Week, in confidence in the progress of the negotiations.
In a statement, the Cabildo highlights that in the first of the meetings in which the interlocutor designated by the insular institution, the director of Human Resources and Legal Advice, Lidia Pereira, accompanied by two heads of service linked to the area, has participated, ” It has concluded with progress in the dialogue process.”
This meeting was attended by the members of the works council and the strike committee, as well as the advisers appointed by the CCOO, UGT and Sepca unions.
The interlocution of the Cabildo in this negotiation aims to “redirect” the labor conflict, “establishing channels of dialogue to try to reach an agreement”, but also to establish “criteria and guidelines” that the Metropolitan of Tenerife must comply with, as it is a dependent entity of the corporation insular.
In the meeting “the aspects that concern the workers have been focused” and a work methodology has been established to continue deepening the dialogue.
Given the relevance of the health and safety issues addressed, it has been agreed to create, within the framework of this negotiation, a safety commission in which representatives of the workers will participate, the person in charge of safety of Metropolitano de Tenerife, as well as personnel Technician of the Occupational Risk Prevention Service. The first meeting will be on March 30.
Likewise, it has been proposed to analyze the structural needs of the workforce and the provision of services, to study a first incorporation of troops to cover needs, “whose lack makes it unfeasible, on occasions, the performance of functions of the workers’ representatives and the use of union credit”, indicates the note of the Cabildo.
The meeting for these matters has been scheduled for April 10. On this date it is expected to have a new manager who would join the negotiation based on the scheduled meeting schedule.
