More than a thousand people gathered at the Guimerá Theater yesterday to enjoy the XII edition of Technological Santa Cruz. This was reported by the CEO of the Development Society, Alfonso Cabello, who highlighted that “the theater was full, both during the morning and afternoon presentations, demonstrating once again the interest that the island has in advance in everything related to new technologies”.
Cabello was in charge of opening the afternoon session, with a dynamic on Artificial Intelligence in which he participated together with comedian Darío López. During this speech, which was carried out humorously, the councilor took the opportunity to highlight “the attractions of the city of Santa Cruz, not only natural and historical heritage, but also as a pole of attraction for industries that increasingly have more weight in the municipality, such as audiovisual, technological or videogames”.
Alfonso Cabello emphasized the quality of the content of the morning presentations, which “began at 10:30 am with Manuel Pestano and Natalia Ridao, from the Tenerife Science and Technology Park, whose intervention was based on a virtual reality dynamic in the that Pestano became an avatar”. They were succeeded on stage by Darío Sánchez, from 3 Doubles Producciones, “which highlighted the boom that the audiovisual sector is experiencing in the Canary Islands,” he added.
“Next -he commented-, Gonzalo Moreno from minube.com explained that the future of the tourism sector, and more specifically of travel, involves unique and sustainable experiences”, and continued to highlight “the presentations on digital transformation, through by Estela Vilches, from Fundación Cepsa, and later by Eva Icarán, who detailed the characteristics of these processes in higher education”.
evening session
Already in the afternoon session, Cabello, on the same stage, once again stressed the importance of “investing in Information and Communication Technologies” and thanked all the speakers for “their participation in an event already consolidated at the national level ”.
The mayor highlighted the impetus of the presentations, such as those by “Emilio Duró, Andrea Compton, Natcher or Pau García-Milà, which have a great component of motivation and help to instill in people the illusion of continuing to undertake and lead new projects”. . Another of the spaces in which Cabello participated was the discussion table with local influencers, in which he intervened during the closing to value “the talent we have in the Islands.”
Likewise, he explained that “we have also had more academic presentations, such as that of Ramón Salaverría, who provided an innovative vision of communication through Artificial Intelligence, or Alicia Asín, on the Internet of things”. Alicia Asín, co-founder and CEO of Libelium, also held a morning meeting with the media, together with Cabello.
