95 kilos of illegally caught fish seized in Tenerife



Agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) have intervened 95 kilos of fish caught so illegal and they have immobilized six fishing rods during a poaching control in the port of garachico (Tenerife).

In one of the inspected boats, which had just docked at the port, the agents observed several large refrigerators in which there was “a large quantity of fish,” sources from the armed institute detail.

They verified that the fish weighed 95 kilos, an amount “much higher” than the amount allowed per person per day, which is 5 kilos, as stipulated in Law 17/2003, of April 10, on Fishing in the Canary Islands.

The agents prepared the corresponding administrative complaints and proceeded to transfer the intervened fish to a charity center in the north of Tenerife.
