SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Fiscal and Border Section of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have intercepted a vehicle in the port of the Tenerife capital that was carrying a total of 113 mixed rabbits (crosses between wild and domestic).
The agents requested the documentation related to their transport, ownership and hygienic sanitary certificate and confirmed that they did not have the permits, for which the Nature Protection Service of the Civil Guard (SEPRONA) took over the investigation.
The animals were transferred to the Tahonilla Flora and Fauna Recovery Center, attached to the Cabildo de Tenerife and administrative complaints have been filed for non-compliance with animal health and hunting laws with penalties that can range from 30 to 60,000 euros, reports the Civil Guard in a note.
