The mayor of Güímar, Gustavo Pérez, ordered the transfer to the Prosecutor’s Office of the alleged contract for the construction of the sanitation network in the Fátima neighborhood, “so that the necessary actions are carried out to elucidate the possible criminal responsibilities” derived from the alleged falsity of the document that accredits it.
Gustavo Pérez explained that, in an appearance held today, the representative of the company subject to the contract informed the Department of Contracting, whose head is Beatriz Perdomo, and the municipal secretary “Aspects unknown by the Güímar City Council to date, which could constitute possible criminal offences.”
At the request of the municipal Legal Services, the company to which, apparently, the work described in the false document was awarded, was required in writing to appear and give a statement about who or who sent said document. Appearance that took place today.
“There is no tender for the execution of the work nor has the Güímar City Council paid money for said execution”
This is the contracting file, on an emergency basis, for the execution of the project called “Major work for the construction of the Fátima neighborhood sanitation network” (file 4020/2021), with a budget of 2,742,884 euros. This is stated in the fraudulent decree, apparently, by which the works are attributed to a company, which dates from December 28, 2021.
Gustavo Pérez explained that, over a year ago, the existence of this decree was known and that, after an internal investigation and having evidence that the company itself considered it “an innocent”, the non-existence of said contract was concluded. Likewise, it made it clear that “in the file of this work there is only a minor contract for the drafting of the sanitation project for the Fátima neighborhood, but there is no tender for the execution of the work nor has the Güímar City Council paid money for said execution ” .
