SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The rector of the University of La Laguna (ULL), Rosa Aguilar, has advanced this Tuesday that they have begun to poll faculties and centers of the institution about the possibility of delaying the start of classes until 10:00 a.m. to facilitate traffic but recognizes that the impact will be “very minor.”
In statements to Europa Press to analyze the Council’s proposal to delay the start of school activity in exchange for 20 million euros in two years, he stressed that in most centers nothing can be done because there are morning and afternoon shifts and furthermore, all the “idiosyncrasy and logistics” must be reviewed, including even labor issues.
Aguilar has acknowledged that, for now, the Faculty of Health Sciences is the only one that could be available to start classes at 10:00 a.m. in its first three courses.
The rector understands that in many centers “it is not possible” to alter the schedule but shows all the “sensitivity” of the institution to try to help solve the problem of traffic congestion on the TF-5.
“If we can help with something, we will do it out of social responsibility”, he commented, while deselecting the time change from possible additional financing from the Cabildo, which is already a “great ally” of the ULL with the financing of projects .
