The proposal, which was already unsuccessful in the last legislature under the presidency of the nationalist Carlos Alonso, is also linked to obtaining additional financing to cover possible costs.
The Governing Council has also approved this Monday that the next course will begin on September 11 and its first quarter will be extended with the delivery of minutes until January 29, 2024, in such a way that the second would begin on February 22 until on July 22, 2024, with the delivery of Final Degree Projects and Final Master’s Projects.
Thus, the teaching period of the first semester would cover from September 11 to December 21, 2023, while that of the second would cover from January 22 to May 8, 2024.
In the month of January 2024, the exams of the first call would take place, while in May the first call of the subjects of the second semester and annuals would take place, and whose second call would be held in July. It should be remembered that the call for September has been eliminated, which has been transferred to July.

In the telematic session, the vice-rector for Students and Employability, Lastenia Hernández, also presented a modification of the regulations that regulate the operation of the Student Council, approved by 23 votes in favor and two abstentions.
The vice-rector explained that the students have considered it necessary to approve a new regulatory regulation to adapt it to the demands of the sector, to the current needs of the University of La Laguna and to be on a par with similar bodies of the rest of the public universities in the State.
The purpose is to offer a framework to discuss university policies, encourage student participation and coordination within the bodies of the University of La Laguna.
The modification of the admission and registration regulations was also debated, in which the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences has been included, the Spanish educational system is differentiated from others and it is possible for the quotas with excess places to be passed to others in higher demand.
It has also adapted to the new statutes, among other issues related to pre-registration and recognition of credits.
