The Cabildo de Tenerife will give 10 million euros to the University of La Laguna if it delays the class schedule

The Cabildo de Tenerife will propose to the University of La Laguna an extra aid of 10 million euros for those faculties that can or manage to delay the start of classes at 10:00 a.m.

The insular president, Pedro Martín, in an audio distributed by the Cabildo, indicates that with this delay in the start of classes it will be possible to alleviate traffic on the TF-5 and has recalled that the work is scheduled to go out to tender in June between Guamasa and Lora and Tamayo.

In the proposal already presented by the Cabildo to the rector of the ULL, Rosa Aguilar, this extra collaboration is proposed for two years -10 million each year- for those faculties that can delay the start of classes because, she has said, They are aware that not all of them can.

Martín has affirmed that the proposal is being considered at a time when a solution is already planned with the project of a new section of the northern motorway of Tenerife that will allow traffic to be decongested and on the other hand because the university begins to plan its schedule for the next course.

This aid, added the island president, is outside of those already received by the University of La Laguna from the Cabildo de Tenerife and, in his opinion, it will also help to improve the economic situation of the academic institution.

Martín has indicated that it is not a question of blaming the university for the traffic congestion, but of seeking measures that facilitate alleviating the traffic jams that form on the north highway of the island.
