The Plaza del Cristo in La Laguna will host the next Friday and Saturday, between 11:00 and 20:00, the celebration of the 1st Conference on Employment and Business in the Audiovisual Sector, organized by the Local Economic Development Area of the City Council and with the which is intended to publicize and bring closer the different job opportunities offered by a sector that is booming in the Islands, from clothing, hairdressing or sound, to animation, photography or production. The conferences are open to all the public interested in working in this sector, from students to professionals.
This was reported yesterday by the councilor responsible for the Area, Aitami Bruno, together with the mayor of Social Welfare, Rubens Ascanio, and the director of the Higher School of Technical Studies of the Canary Islands (Esetec) and coordinator of the didactic section of the conference, Miguel Martin.
“La Laguna is already an important outdoor filming set that attracts many productions every year, so we want to increase our options so that the necessary jobs can be covered with trained and qualified local population”, Bruno highlighted.
Rubens Ascanio pointed out that the Social Welfare Area will collaborate with sign language interpreters and other support resources, betting on the labor integration of people with disabilities in the audiovisual sector.
Program
For his part, Miguel Martín detailed the conference program, which will feature a dozen conferences, workshops and workshops given by prominent Canarian, state and international professionals in this industry.
Among some of them, there will be a presentation by the director of the Tenerife Film Commission, Ricardo Martínez; the CEO of Blackout Films and head of post-production and advertising, Rafael Rodríguez; the producer and animation film director Pedro Solís; the stylist, hairdresser and make-up artist Elías Díaz, or Esetec professors such as María Crespo or Jorman Hernández, among others.
