SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Command of the Civil Guard of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has several Specialized Attention Points (PAE) for the fight against gender violence, distributed throughout all the units of the province and made up of agents specialized in this matter and who are in charge of to train the rest of the units of the province.
The PAEs act as a complement and support for the territorial units and are found in the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of this Command, as well as in the Territorial Teams of the Judicial Police (regional level) and are made up of agents specialized in assisting victims of special vulnerability.
Its objective is to guarantee specific attention to the most serious and complex cases in this field, as well as to provide training, support and advice to the Posts and Territorial Units, since all actions in this matter are notified to the PAE in order to assess their possible intervention, carrying out, in turn, a follow-up of the problem.
The Civil Guard has recently had the support and collaboration of the Organic Unit for Gender Violence of the Insular Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS) during one of the trainings that Civil Guard agents belonging to the PAE gave to other units of the Command.
These meetings sought to advance and improve care for victims of gender violence so that they feel safe and protected when they are attended to by an agent, which will also improve the possible investigation that must be carried out in each case, knowing important details. to be able to support and help them at all times.
The Organic Unit for Gender Violence was created with the aim of providing specialized comprehensive care to victims and survivors of gender violence, in accordance with the Canarian, state and European legal framework.
The powers attributed are the planning, coordination and supervision of the care centers and services for Victims of Gender Violence; the provision of services and management of support, accommodation and shelter resources for Victims.
The Unit directly manages one of the shelters for victims of gender violence and their dependents (Centro de la Mujer), with capacity for up to 4 cohabitation units. The rest of the accommodation resources are indirectly managed; the assistance and Legal, Economic and Technical Cooperation of the Services and Centers that make up the system; the provision of specialized social services for comprehensive care for victims of gender violence.
