Javier Rodríguez, winner of the second edition of the Bestial Race Santiago del Teide

The second edition of the Bestial Race Santiago del Teide was held last weekend in which Javier Rodríguez de León and Dafne Ríos became the champions of this obstacle course. A test in which more than 600 runners of 15 nationalities participated, who faced more than 30 obstacles and a spectacular setup.

The test had a very technical route of ascents and descents through the places on the slopes of Teide of 10 and 7 km, with the first start at 9:30 a.m. of the first rounds of the Elite 10 km and Age Group modality ; followed by the Trex 10 km category, which also started in different turns and, finally, the Hell 6 km. The runners began the test in the Santiago del Teide picnic area, passing through the Hotel La Casona del Patio with a group of obstacles and a finish line, where they will finish the race after overcoming more than 30 obstacles in the four areas through which the route passed. .

The participants of the Elite batch fought to win, however the women’s podium was deserted, since the favorites withdrew before reaching the finish line and the two who managed to cross it, Dafne Ríos and Paula Domínguez, were disqualified. While the men’s race was a little closer, but Javier Rodríguez de León made the difference by being the first classified, followed by Manuel Luján and Azman Mesand.

The II Bestial Race Santiago del Teide is the first stop of the Bestial Race Series 2023. A test that classifies in the most important championships worldwide, being the only obstacle course in the Canary Islands with these merits. This trajectory has placed it among the 10 best races in Spain, being an international benchmark for the development of this sport.
