
El Médano dressed yesterday with the best of his fantasies, a lot of rhythm and music during the celebration of the Day Carnival south of Tenerife. The fourth edition of this event, organized by the Department of Culture of the Granadilla de Abona City Council, brought together thousands of people throughout the day, from 11:00 until dawn.
Carnival, beach and very good weather which accompanied them throughout the day to enjoy more than 15 hours of activities and musical performances for the whole family and all audiences. The festive day began with the parade from Playa Chica to the central square, with local groups such as the troupes Kuliquitacas and Guajeiros and their batucada, in addition to the children’s murga Los Torciditos.
Granadilla bids farewell to Carnival today with the Burial of the Sardine, accompanied by a funeral procession that will depart from Plaza Ramón y Cajal (El Calvario), at 5:00 p.m. The day will end in Los Hinojeros park, with the widows’ dance, enlivened by La Sabrosa and a sardine.
