SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 65-year-old man has died after being pulled out of the sea with signs of drowning on the Arena beach in Santiago del Teide (Tenerife), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 in the Canary Islands.
The events occurred this Wednesday afternoon on the aforementioned beach, from where some bathers pulled the man with signs of drowning and who was unconscious out of the water.
Subsequently, a lifeguard who was in the area and agents of the Local Police found that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest, for which they began to perform basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers with the help of a semiautomatic defibrillator until the arrival of the health teams.
Civil Guard agents appeared at the scene of the incident and took charge of the corresponding proceedings.
