The twelfth edition ofSanta Cruz Technology” will take place from March 23 to 26 at the Teatro Guimerá and Espacio R – Centro de Arte La Recova, and it will address the main trends in Information and Communication Technologies at the hands of almost twenty experts nationals.

This initiative, for which more than a hundred speakers have already passed throughout its history, and which is the longest running ICT event of these characteristics in Spain, will focus on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, communication and digital content creators, and will be complemented over the weekend with an event dedicated to Asian culture, K-pop and video games.

The presentation of this new edition was attended by the mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, together with the CEO of the Development Society, Alfonso Cabello, and the director of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the European University of the Canary Islands, José Highlander.

Bermúdez, in his speech, highlighted the importance of forums such as Tecnológica “since it is where we value examples of local and foreign successes to continue improving our levels in information and communication technologies.”

The CEO of the Development Society, Alfonso Cabello, announced that the twelfth edition of “Tecnológica Santa Cruz” “is arousing considerable expectation among citizens, which has meant that without having announced the list of speakers, they have already acquired almost 200 locations for the traditional day of conferences on the afternoon of Thursday, March 23, whose tickets are available at the price of 2 euros for social purposes on the web www.tecnologicasantacruz.com”.

For his part, the director of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the European University of the Canary Islands, José Serrano, thanked the invitation and pointed out the importance of “ecosystems like this, which help academic institutions to drink from these trends”.

Regarding the program, this edition will have a novelty compared to other years, starting on the morning of Thursday, March 23 with a series of conferences aimed at the educational community and training centers at the Guimerá Theater, and which will take place from 10 :30 to 12:30 p.m. Later, at the same location, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the traditional day of conferences will take place by national experts and local content creators.

For the weekend, the Espacio R – Centro de Arte La Recova will host a video game and Asian culture event from Friday 24 to Sunday 26, in which there will be esports competitions, samples of digital artists and free dance exhibitions K- pop. Also, as a novelty, this year the K-pop contests will be held separately, due to the success of the call in the last edition, on Sunday 26 at the Teatro Guimerá.

On this occasion, the Thursday afternoon session of “Tecnológica Santa Cruz” will be hosted by the popular streamer on Twitch, creator of digital content for more than six years and ambassador of Twitch Spain, Mery Soldier, who in addition to being a host, presenter and organizer of video game and eSports events, she was the presenter of the previous edition. Likewise, she will be accompanied by the Canarian humorist and visible face of Palante Producciones, Darío López.

“Tecnológica Santa Cruz 2023” is organized by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Society and is sponsored in the Gold category by Worten, Fundación Cepsa, Grupo Domingo Alonso and Última Informática, in the Silver category Hospiten and the strategic alliance with the European University of the Canary Islands.

PROGRAM AND SPEAKERS

The morning session of “Tecnológica Santa Cruz 2023” at the Guimerá Theater will begin at 10:30 with a presentation by the Science and Technology Park of Tenerife; and will continue with the founder and CEO of 3 Doubles Producciones, dario sanchez.

Later, the co-founder and director of operations of minube.com, Gonzalo Morenowhose platform, which has more than 70 million visitors a year, helps travelers from all over the world to be inspired, plan, book and share their trips.

Next, the head of open innovation of Fundación Cepsa, Estela Vilcheswho has been working for 10 years in various areas of the international energy sector, such as entrepreneurship and commercial services.

The full stop for the morning session will be put by the Vice Chancellor for Teaching Staff and Research at the Universidad Europea, Eva Icaranexpert in strategy and university management with a master’s degree in Health Management and a doctorate in Psychology.

In the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., the traditional Technology session will begin, with interventions by content creators and communication and digital professionals. Thus, among the speakers in this edition, the businessman, lecturer and expert consultant in the development of a positive mental attitude in teams through motivation, emilio duro; the co-founder of DoWe and Female Startup Leaders, Silvia Rivela; or the co-founder and CEO of the healthcare startup HumanITCare, Nuria Pastor.

Other nationally relevant speakers who will participate in “Tecnológica Santa Cruz” are the youtuber Andrea Comptonwho has almost 700,000 subscribers to his channel; Alice Asin, co-founder and CEO of Libelium, a Spanish company that designs and manufactures wireless sensors for smart cities; the co-founder and CEO of Vizz Agency, Xavi Robles, responsible for the largest agency of Spanish-speaking content creators and names like Elrubius, Paula Gonu or Willyrex; the technology-based entrepreneur and communicator Pau Garcia-Mila; or the creator of humorous content, with more than 11 million followers on Tik Tok and a graduate in Business Administration and Management, Nachter.

Likewise, in the afternoon session the professor of Journalism at the University of Navarra and director of its Center for Internet and Digital Life Studies, Ramon Salaverriawhose research focuses on digital journalism and disinformation, with more than 250 scientific and outreach publications, who has given courses and conferences in more than 30 countries and who, in addition, chairs the Committee of Experts of the Council of Europe on sustainability of the news media.

Likewise, this edition will feature a discussion table with content creators on Instagram, which will be made up of the lifestyle influencer Lola Ortiz; the model and actress Carla Miranda; the model and influencer Susanna Bianca; and marine biologist and activist Paul Martin.

TICKETS

It is important to note that access to the afternoon session on Thursday, March 23, in which a series of conferences aimed at the educational community and training centers will take place at the Guimerá Theater, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be free and whose tickets can be reserved on the website www.tecnologicasantacruz.com. For its part, for the traditional day of conferences, which will take place from 5:20 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Teatro Guimerá, the price of the tickets will be 2 euros, which will be used for a social purpose and can also be purchased from the event website itself.

On the other hand, access to the Espacio R – La Recova Art Center, between Friday the 24th and Sunday the 26th, to the video game and Asian culture event, in which there will be esports competitions, samples of digital artists and dance exhibitions K-pop libre, among others, will be free until full capacity is reached, while access to the K-pop contests, which will take place at the Guimerá Theater on Sunday, March 26, will be free but tickets will have to be purchased at the venue itself. website of the event and that will be activated soon.
