Candelaria says goodbye to Carnival and Los Gigantes and Granadilla elect queens

After four days, the Carnival of the Circus, in candlemasthey said goodbye on Sunday with the Day Carnivalwhich brought together a large audience in tune with the other acts of the Don Carnal festivities.

The mayoress of the municipality, Mari Brito, points out that this year’s Carnival has stood out for being very participatory. In this sense, she Brito thanks all the groups and the general public for the good harmony and joy that has spread these days in the municipality.

A program of events in which the presence of the Carnival candlestick groups stood out, such as Tropicana Infantil, Batucada Almagec, the group of the Carnival of the Third Age of Antón Guanche and the Tropicana comparsa, in addition to the municipal schools of the Upcan de Ritmos Latinos, Dance and Belly Dance, En Paralelo Danza, Jareadas at its point of salt and the children’s centers of El Cosito: Los Menceyes, Indalín and Higo Pico.

On the other hand, the Carnival of Granadilla de Abona already has a Queen. Iria Yanes Martínez was chosen on Sunday during a gala that revolved around the theme of Los Carnavales del Mundo and that was held in Los Hinojeros park. The young woman is from the town of San Isidro and she wore the fantasy Agua de vida, by Jorge González, representing the San Antonio Washing Station. The rest of the ladies were: Claudia Casanova Pérez, Yaiza Bellido Delgado, Alba María Dorta Álvarez and Ithaysa Rojas Rodríguez. The venue was filled with rhythm and color with performances by the municipality’s Carnival groups, apart from the participation of the Beanky Ballet and Pepe Benavente.

In addition, Nayara Cubas Guerra was elected Queen of the Los Gigantes Carnival on Friday. The young candidate was crowned with a fantasy designed by Fran Yanes on behalf of Verde’s Los Gigantes Tenerife Real Estate Estate Agency, at a gala that took place in Plaza Buganvilla and was directed by Blanqui Dorta, with performances by Henry Méndez, Laura Lou, the Los Joroperos comparsa, the Epsylon ballet, Miriam Reyes and Ángel Campos.

A day later, Sofía Gorrín Hernández was elected Children’s Queen, with a suit designed by Ruymán Pérez and representing Landmar Hotels.

These Carnivals will conclude this weekend, waiting for the one in Los Cristianos to begin, from the 17th to the 27th.
