Agents of the Local police have denounced this Friday a possible case of animal abuse suffered by a duck during the past weekend during the celebration of the Santa Cruz Carnival Tenerife.
Although the agents already filed the appropriate administrative infringement report the same morning last Saturday, in view of the veterinary reports received, the proceedings have been completed regarding the three people responsible for this situation.
The events occurred at dawn last Saturday when local police officers detected three people next to a vehicle on Juan de Padrón street who were apparently consuming narcotic substances.
When trying to verify these facts and identify these individuals, they observed a rope tied to the wheel of the car and the limb of a duck, the Local Police detailed in a note.
The animal presented various bleeding wounds and very deteriorated plumage.
Initially, the appropriate reports were drawn up for the possession and consumption of narcotic substances and when asking about the origin of the animal, none of those present took charge.
For this reason, the collaboration of a staff from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Civil Protection volunteer group was required, which took charge of the care and transfer of the animal to the regional shelter of Hill Valleywhere he was admitted.
The police officers carried out various checks and discovered that one of the 67-year-old men, who was next to the car, was related to an animal farm, and was also the driver of the vehicle.
In view of all this, a photographic report was attached and, together with the veterinary diagnosis, it has been brought to the attention of the judicial authority.
