SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santiago Sesé, has valued as “bittersweet” the data known today Thursday on registered unemployment in the month of February and considers that they show “the need to work on active employment policies that also allow the unemployed to take advantage of each and every one of the job opportunities that present themselves”.
Registered unemployment in the SEPE offices increased by 2,276 people (1.5% more), seeing this increase mainly motivated by the rise of registered unemployed in the group ‘without previous employment’, which grew by 1,725 people (11 %) compared to the previous month.
Thus, Santiago Sesé sees it as a priority “to improve the employability of the unemployed, since despite the fact that companies are creating jobs, there is the paradox of not finding suitable profiles that respond to their needs, which is an impediment to the development and improvement of its economic activity”.
