SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has apologized on Tuesday for the involvement of two ex-PSOE militants in the ‘Mediator case’, an alleged corrupt plot that “damages” his party but also “politics in general”. .
In the turn of reply to the deputy of the Mixed Group Vidina Espino in the ‘Debate on the State of the Canary Nationality’, she has indicated that neither the former deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes nor his nephew, the former director general of Livestock, Taishet Fuentes, are “colleagues ” given that a public representative “must be exemplary”.
He has stressed that the PSOE was “very harsh” with the two charges since they were investigated since they were expelled and has urged Espino not to “cast doubts” about the work of the officials because “it has not been detected that they have modified any proceedings”.
“His honor cannot be allowed to be questioned,” he added, also indicating that no member of the Executive is being investigated in the case and that not even the livestock companies were aware of the existence of the plot.
He has recognized that the appointment of Fuentes was not correct, but his termination was correct, which also occurred months before he was investigated.
The president has censured Espino’s “Manichaeism” for hiding data in his arguments and for accusing the Government of “dressing up the numbers”, making it ugly for him to present himself as “the Robin Hood of what” when he fills the fridge “just as well” as the rest of the deputies.
He has also criticized that he has used an “error” in the law to continue in the Mixed Group and regretted that he is presenting for a party in the Legislature (Cs) and then “hold press conferences with another”, in reference to the Coalition Canaria, who “was going to knock down”.
Torres has also defended the good employment figures in the Canary Islands, support for the stabilization of public workers, the 700% increase in the items against male violence and the aid received by companies to deal with the impact of the pandemic.
