The Murgas winners of the interpretation awards of the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2023Chancletas, Serenquenquenes and Chacho Tú, as well as the second classified in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife contest, crazy devilshave confirmed in separate statements that they will not be in the traditional Meeting of murgas of Candelaria.
The acts will begin this Thursday with the Gala El Gran Circo del Carnaval, in which the protagonists will be the groups of the municipality with Comparsa Infantil Tropicana, Batucada Almagec, Comparsa Tropicana, Agrupación Antón Guanche, Odali Club Deportivo, Ballet de Loren Díaz en Paralelo Danza and the Municipal School of Latin Rhythms, as well as Dreams Drags, Drag Hocklin and Miriam Reyes.
The City Council has wanted to concentrate the Carnival in its only weekend and meet the demand of the candelarieros to celebrate the Coso and the Carnival dance on Saturday. For this reason, the Murgas Meeting was scheduled for Friday, March 3, as was already planned in 2020.

Once the winners of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Murgas contest were known, they were informed of the date and they announced last Sunday the impossibility of going to Candelaria that day.
The party organizers then decided to celebrate a Murga Night with the participation of Trapaseros, Diablos Locos, Burlonas, Zeta Zetas and Mamelucos. However, Diablos Locos confirmed last night that he will not attend the event either.
