The Murgas Regional Meeting was scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Friday, in the Plaza de la Patrona de Canary Islands. This year under the heading Murgas Night, a name that arises after the refusal of the murgas of Gran Canaria to participate because the chosen date forced the components to lose two days of work. The alternative was to celebrate the event with murgas from Tenerife. Between these, crazy devils, winners of the second acting prize, and Zeta Zetas announced their intention not to attend. With this, the cartel would be composed of trespassers (winners in Santa Cruz), mocking (winners of a second prize) and rompers.
This event, which began its journey in the Tenerife Carnival In 2002, it was supposed to return this year to congregate in the Plaza de la Patrona the six winning murgas of the contests of both capitals, but the change of day dynamited one of the most anticipated acts of the festivities: going from the traditional Saturday to Friday is understood as the end of the meeting. The solution reached at the last minute of this Tuesday seems to guarantee the celebration of the Murgas Regional Meeting at an early date in the foreseen scenario.
