The candidate of the Socialist Party (PSOE) to the Aronera Mayor’s Office, José Julián Mena, asked for massive support for “an Arona leader of the South” during an act in Cabo Blanco with which he kicked off the pre-campaign for re-election with the opening of a meeting point in this core. It was an appointment that had more than two hundred residents, members, sympathizers and party officials.
Mena recalled that “Arona will win if it mobilizes in favor of those of us who have stood up to defend the general interest of the residents, against private interests, which have joined in a permanent blockade.” And he added: “In these months, Arona has to win from everyone who cannot return to the past.”
In addition, in the act held last Friday, he made a call to the unity of the residents of the municipality so that, in the coming months, “the municipality emerges strengthened with a majority project in the face of the fragmentation that the opposition needs to have some option ; a fragmentation that has proven, many times in the past, to be bad for Arona, with time-sharing governments and parties fighting for their shares of power, instead of thinking about the neighbors and the modernization of the municipality and the South Region» .
