La Victoria allocates 420,000 euros to the new children’s park in El Pinar

The Town Hall of La Victoria de Acentejo and the Council of Tenerife invest 420,000 euros in the total renovation of the children’s park in Pinewood. The works began this Monday, February 27, 2023 and have a lead time of six months, so the municipality will be able to enjoy this rehabilitated space in the last quarter of the year. For the mayor, Juan Antonio Garcia Abreu (PSOE)this space “will delight the victorieros and the rest of the inhabitants of the North.”

The current park was inaugurated in 2010 and the mayor considers that «the lack of maintenance in many of these 13 years has forced an important action to be carried out in the largest and most central park in the town. we have achieved an insular contribution of 400,000 euros for the improvement of the 1,500 square meters of the playground and for the elimination of the architectural barriers and the earth and gravel pavement”.

The project will focus on ensuring better accessibility, eliminating slopes with the help of ramps and terraces, “to make it a more inclusive facility.” All games will be updated and additionally placed bio-healthy devices so that older people can also enjoy this space. One of the main novelties will be, in the mayor’s opinion, “installing trampolines», although there will also be «indian booths, zip line and a giant slide that takes advantage of the unevenness of the terrain and can be used by children and adults.

The green areas will be renewed and there will also be «a space for sounds, with different games and stations to enjoy the natural environment. This action is completed with the upcoming inauguration of the renovated municipal library, “which will allow also have public toilets and a cafeteria for the first time in the El Pinar park”, highlights the socialist Juan Antonio García Abreu.

For the victorious president, “it is important to highlight that this is the fifth public park that we have improved so far in this mandate. we already did the new Los Arroyos park, which has a thousand square meters; we set up another park of 380 square meters in the neighborhood of The Slide; in Santa Eulalia we are about to inaugurate the first dog park in the municipality, with about 1,300 square meters; We are going to improve the existing one on the back of Rodriguez Lara squareand this of Pinewoodwhich will be the largest and most ambitious, with more than 1,500 meters of colour, sound, inclusion, accessibility and fun”.
