The mayor of Arona and PSOE candidate, José Julián Mena, gave the start to the pre-campaign for re-election in Cabo Blanco, with the opening of a meeting point in this nucleus, as happened in the 2019 pre-campaign, in an act which had more than two hundred residents, affiliates, sympathizers and party officials.
Mena recalled that “Arona will win if it mobilizes in favor of those of us who have stood up to defend the general interest of the residents, against private interests, which have united in a permanent blockade. In these months, Arona has to win from everyone who cannot go back to the past ”, he added.
The mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, made a call to the unity of the residents of the municipality so that, in the coming months, the municipality emerges strengthened with a majority project in the face of the “fragmentation that the opposition needs to have some option, a fragmentation that has proven, many times in the past, to be bad for Arona, with time-sharing governments and parties fighting for their share of power, instead of thinking about the neighbors and the modernization of the municipality and the South Region” . Mena was referring to the multiple options -a dozen- that will be presented to the 28-M elections in the municipality of Arona.
Mena was accompanied at the opening ceremony of this meeting point by prominent members of the PSOE of the Canary Islands such as the President of Parliament, Gustavo Matos, the regional councilor for Ecological Transition, José Antonio Valbuena, the island councilors Liskel Álvarez and Zebenzuí Chinea, as well as as the CEO of Tenerife Tourism, David Pérez.
“We are at a key moment,” Mena said. Arona will win if it mobilizes in favor of those of us who have stood up to defend the general interest of the residents, against small private interests, which have united in a permanent blockade. In these months, the Arona of all has to win against the Arona of few, ”he maintained.
José Julián Mena made these statements during the opening ceremony of the campaign meeting point set up by the PSOE in Arona in the center of Cabo Blanco, as in the 2019 elections. More than two hundred residents gathered there, affiliates, supporters and political leaders, who completely filled the main venue and the adjacent one, even with people who followed the act from the street.
