The Santiago del Teide City Council is organizing a new edition of the campaign “Agents of Change. Gender Equality 2023″, which integrates into its programming various acts and activities that will be carried out on the occasion of the commemoration of International Women’s Day, which is celebrated every March 8.
Thus, through the aforementioned initiative, the consistory intends to commemorate women’s rights, the vindication of the fight for gender equality as well as the important role of women in history and our society.
In this sense, the programming will begin on March 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Center with the representation of the theater play entitled “Viudas de Nadie” by the women participating in the workshop “Women Linked to the Theater” . On March 7, 21 and 28 from 5:00 p.m., the activity called “Barriguitas” will be held at the Puerto de Santiago Library, aimed at pregnant women from the third month of gestation.
On March 8, commemoration of International Women’s Day, there will be a theatrical show entitled “Botas de Obra con Tacón” in the different educational centers of the municipality by the company El Gto Engrifao. Starting at 7:30 p.m., the Concepción García Suárez 2023 awards will be presented with the special performance of “Martirio”.
On March 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Puerto de Santiago Library, a practical therapeutic writing workshop will be held by the trainer, psychologist and coach, Pascual Benet.
Finally, on April 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Center, the Hideko Fest Santiago del Teide will be held, in which different activities will be carried out using new technologies and Asian culture with the intention that youth internalize that both men and women can achieve the goals they set.
In addition, throughout the month of March there will be a purple corner installed in the different municipal libraries, the decision of the II Tiktok Contest will take place and on March 3,6,7,10 and 24 the expert sociologist in Equality Patricia Ojeda will give different workshops at IES Tamaimo and educational centers in the municipality.
