The Santa Cruz City Council has started the file with which it will shape the rescue of taxi licenses in the capital. The goal is for the number of permits to be around 500, so there are about 150 left over at the moment. For this, more than five million euros will be allocated between 2023 and 2026, with the collaboration of the Cabildo de Tenerife. Thus, per year, almost 1.4 million will be invested to obtain these circulation licences, so that 768,213 euros will be financed from the City Council’s own funds and 628,538 euros will be provided by the Island Corporation.
Before establishing the conditions to access this procedure, the law establishes that a period of prior information must be opened so that the representative associations of the taxi sector, consumer and user associations and other interested parties of the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, make the allegations and suggestions that they consider to be their right regarding the rescue procedure that is intended to be carried out. They will have 20 business days from today to do so.
