The work at the intersection of the Rambla with Numancia will end in March

The work to improve pedestrian traffic on the Rambla de Santa Cruz at the intersection with Numancia and Veinticinco de Julio streets, it will end in the first week of March.

This was announced yesterday, during a visit to the area, by the mayor of the capital of Tenerife, the nationalist José Manuel Bermúdez, and the Councilor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, of the PP, who reported that these works have meant aan investment of more than 100,000 euros.

Among the actions that have been carried out in this part of the Rambla de Santa Cruz, “to continue improving the transit of citizens in it”, the creation of two pedestrian crossings, asphalt work and the beautification of the zone. These works are included in the maintenance contract for the tracks in the five districts of the capital of Tenerife.

Specifically, and as explained by the mayor, this section will join the Rambla de Santa Cruz for pedestrians at the intersection with Numancia and Veinticinco de Julio streets, “just as was done in recent months with the Dominican Republic square, in the confluence with the avenues of Bélgica and San Sebastián (at the height of the Viera y Clavijo Cultural Park), as well as at the intersection of the streets San Isidro, Arquitectos Saavedra and Díaz Llanos and San Martín with the Rambla, in front of the Almeyda barracks ».

«This action at the confluence of the Rambla de Santa Cruz with Calle Veinticinco de Julio responds to the need to extend pedestrian access through this central area of the capital of Tenerife. This work is a clear commitment of the current government team (CC, PP and the mayor of Cs Evelyn Alonso) to make a city increasingly accessible and friendly for pedestrians, both for residents and visitors, “said the councilor.

For his part, Councilor Carlos Tarife pointed out that the objective of this action in terms of pedestrian accessibility is to guarantee continuity along the entire Rambla, from the Municipal Pool Acidalio Lorenzo to Avenida de Anaga.

“From the Public Services area, we have set ourselves the objective of strengthening the central pedestrian axis, which will prevent citizens from having to deviate from their route and resort to the sidewalks to avoid roundabouts,” adds the councilor responsible for the area of public services. Public services.

Tarife insists that the forecast is for this part of the Rambla de Santa Cruz to be open to the public at the beginning of March. The works, which began on January 9, have caused changes in traffic.
