There are barely two months left for the longed-for puddle area of Valleseco, after some 30 years of waiting and neighborhood struggle, become a reality. AND Although it will not be a large sandy beach near the center of Santa Cruz, something many chicharreros have dreamed of, this project will transform the city’s coastline, providing it with a new and different access to the sea, and a new space recreation and leisure for citizens. The capital of Tenerife will win 272 meters of coastline for bathing and a promenade area of 350 metersnear the avenue of Anaga.
“The Charcos de Valleseco Zone will become a free and public area for bathing, leisure and sports activities, with different possibilities of enjoying the sea.” This is highlighted by the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the video that he has recently uploaded to his networks to show how the result of the project that he will it began to be executed in June 2021 and whose completion is scheduled, as it has already been announced THE DAYfor April of this year.
The execution of the Charcos de Valleseco Zone is the result of the inter-administrative agreement signed in 2019 between the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo, the Santa Cruz City Council and the Port Authority itself to finance the more than 13.6 million euros that this project costs. construction site. More than 80% of it has already been carried out. In this sense, and once a large part of the work was completed, both in the sea area and on land, last week the installation of the catwalks access to the Charcos Zone. And although this action will have to be repeated because a truck, which bypassed the gauge control, demolished the first structure that had been placed, from the Ports of Tenerife the good pace of the work stands out.
Valleseco beach, located between the Salvamento Marítimo tower and the Cidemat, is divided into three groups of actions: Zone of Charcos, Pantanales and Maritime Defenses. The first is made up, on the one hand, of the bathing area (272 linear meters), whose ground surface will be more or less flooded depending on the tides. And, on the other hand, it will have a promenade (350 linear meters), “from which pedestrian access is produced from Avenida de Anaga”. This area will include the two pedestrian walkways; a landscaped and wooded space for rest; and a service space with showers.
The Pantanales are the elements that delimit the water of the Puddle Zone as a bathing and sports area, “including rest, play and solarium platforms”. These are tropical wood surfaces on an aluminum structure, anchored to the bottom of the sea with micropiles. The Maritime Defenses are the protection dikes already built.
On the other hand, Today the City Council of the capital is expected to receive the work to improve the Acapulco-El Bloque bathing areas, also in Valleseco.
