SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will reach its halfway point tomorrow Wednesday with the celebration of the Burial of the Sardine. The massive night of Carnival Monday, which brought together tens of thousands of people in the ring until dawn, and this Tuesday’s Coso Apotheosis give way to the most casual act of the chicharreras festivities.

The appointment with the sardine, within a Carnival dedicated to the city of New York, is set at 10:00 p.m. The meeting point is Calle Juan Pablo II. From there the procession will depart along the usual itinerary: Plaza de Weyler and Méndez Núñez, Pilar, Villalba Hervás and La Marina streets, to culminate in the Plaza de España. Very close, on Avenida Marítima, the burning of the sardine will take place.

The act will have the participation of the singers Pepe Benavente and El Morocho, within a celebration characterized by the spontaneity and disorder of the entourage.

The celebration of the Burial of the Sardine will motivate parking prohibitions and the traffic cut through the streets through which the procession will pass. Thus, from 6:00 p.m. the parking ban will be in force on Juan Pablo II streets, in the section between Benavides street and Weyler square, the same as in Méndez Núñez, from Weyler to El Pilar, and in the latter, in all your extension.

Regarding traffic cuts, the Local Police will proceed to carry them out, starting at 8:30 p.m., in the first section of the route, affecting Juan Pablo II streets, from Álvarez de Lugo and Pérez de Rozas; Jesus and Mary with Rambla Pulido. From 9:30 p.m., circulation will also be prevented at the confluence of the streets 25 de Julio with Pérez de Rozas and Robayna, in addition to Méndez Núñez and El Pilar.

All these modifications will be properly signposted, asking the public to respect said indications. For people who have garages in the area and have the pertinent authorization, the Local Police officers will try to facilitate safe access.
