PUBLIC TELEVISIONS AND ANIMATION
In parallel to the Forum, the Quirino Awards will serve as a framework for two professional activities that will focus on public television and its role in the development of animation projects, as well as different cross-border cooperation mechanisms.
After the positive balance of the first meeting held in 2022, the Quirino Awards once again bring together a group of Ibero-American public television stations in San Cristóbal de La Laguna to reflect on their programming, acquisition and co-production policies for animated content. Representatives of Pakapaka (Argentina), TVN Chile (Chile), RTP (Portugal), Canal Once (Mexico), Canal Capital (Colombia) and Canal IPE (Peru) will be present at the second edition of this meeting organized with the collaboration of Radiotelevisión Spanish (RTVE).
Thanks to its international projection, the Quirinos will also host the meeting of the animation work group for European public television. Organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) with the collaboration of RTVE, this meeting will be attended by representatives of RAI KIDS (Italy), YLE (Finland), RTP (Portugal), RTK (Kosovo), TRM (Moldova) , RTVSLO (Slovenia), LTV (Latvia), LRT (Lithuania) and ERR (Estonia).
The meeting will serve, in turn, as a preamble to a meeting between the Ibero-American and European public television stations with the aim of promoting the circulation of animated content in both regions. The activities will take place on May 10 and 11.
