SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 20 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The public company Gestión del Medio Rural de Canarias (GMR Canarias), attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, will manage the collection and free shipping of wine samples from Canarian wineries that want to participate in the XXI Bacchus International Wine Competition, a contest recognized by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) that will be held from April 17 to 20 in Madrid.
With the purpose of supporting the wine sector of the Archipelago, GMR Canarias will assume the shipping costs of all the samples to the contest, both for wineries and for professionals of the wine sector who want to show the quality of the island wines in a showcase like Bacchus 2023. Bacchus is the only international wine competition in Spain that currently belongs to Vinofed, the federation that integrates the most renowned competitions worldwide. To this is added the fact of being recognized by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Government of Spain.
Specialized journalists, oenologists, Masters of Wine and Masters of Sommeliers, are in charge of recognizing and evaluating the quality of the wines present at Bacchus. More than 1,500 participating wines and a hundred tasters make Madrid the world capital of wine. Some twenty countries and more than 80 Spanish indications of origin have signed up for this event that will bring together the best wines in the world.
