SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 19 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Santa Cruz de La Palma hosts this Monday the celebration of a new edition of Los Indianos, now without restrictions, and which provides for the attendance of thousands of people not only from the Island, but also from other points inside and outside the Canary Islands .
The festive day will begin at 10:15 a.m., when the traditional reception ceremony will take place in the capital port of Santa Cruz de La Palma de la Negra Tomasa and her family recently arrived from Cuba, at the Armas shipping docking point.
At 10:30 a.m., the atrium of the Town Hall will host the parody of La Espera, starting at 11:00 a.m., in the Plaza de España, beginning with the music of Orillas del Son, dances, and a dramatized show about the history of emigration between La Palma and Cuba, with the unveiling of the plaque in the Havana square with the Cuban consul and, as a closing, the arrival of Negra Tomasa.
Once Negra Tomasa’s greeting to the audience in the Plaza de España has finished, she will go to the central venue, located on Avenida Marítima, to thank the Indianas for their warm welcome after several years without being able to celebrate the best Carnival Monday.
There will be music in different areas of the city to facilitate the flow of people, such as outside La Recova, José Mata square, La Alameda square and the central area, among others. The celebration of Los Indianos will be broadcast from 12:00 noon on Televisión Canaria until 2:00 p.m.
