A hiker is injured after suffering a fall on Teide

A 50-year-old woman has been injured after suffering a fall while hiking in the Teide National Park, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The event occurred this Sunday, around 12:20 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert that a hiker had suffered a fall on trail number 9 and required medical assistance.

The GES helicopter traveled to the area, as well as members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium and the Red Cross ERIE, activated by the Consortium itself.

After giving her initial attention, the hiker was rescued, who was evacuated in the aircraft to the Adeje Volunteer Firefighters helipad.

Once on land, SUC personnel assessed and assisted the affected person, which was to transfer her by sanitary ambulance to Hospiten Sur due to moderate upper limb trauma, barring complications.

Agents of the Local Police of La Orotava and the Civil Guard activated by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center also intervened in the deployed device.
