Specialized agents from the Drone Unit of the Local Police (Unidron) of Santa Cruz de La Palma will carry out flights from different locations in the capital of La Palma to monitor the flow of people in real time during the celebration of Los Idianos.
This is one of the teams that are part of the security device so that the party that will take place this Monday, February 20, can take place within the expected normality of large mass events.
The objective of the device is none other than to continue ensuring that the Carnivals of Santa Cruz de La Palma, and specifically Los Indianos, continue to be safe, close festivities and where participation and good harmony among the participants prevail.
In this sense, this year the components of the Drone Intervention Unit (Unidron) of the Telde Local Police and also the troops of this department of the Arona City Council will collaborate in this security operation. In total there will be up to eight drones in the aerial surveillance device throughout Monday.
For said day, traffic and circulation modifications will be made, such as flow control, and reinforcement through video surveillance systems, private security, members of the Civil Guard, Local, National, and Canary Islands Police, members of the Fire Department, volunteers and health care, among others. others.
On the other hand, a Violet Point will be set up and information elements visible from a long distance will also be installed informing about the access and exit points in the historic center during the acts with the greatest attendance forecast in the morning until approximately 3:00 p.m.
